Welcome to Newcastle Orienteering Club

Orienteering is a competitive or non-competitive recreational activity in which participants use a detailed map, and usually a compass, to navigate between checkpoints on an unfamiliar course in bush terrain, parkland or urban areas.

If you like a physical and mental challenge while exploring the outdoors, orienteering is the sport for you!

This year's 3 Days competition attracted over 800 orienteers, with the combined times from all three days deciding the winners. Two days of the competition featured complex gold mining terrain, with Day 2 held in more familiar granite boulder country.

Ten Newcastle orienteers finished on the podium in their age class in the overall 3 Days results.

First: Jennifer Enderby (W55A), Stephen Craig (M55A).
Second: Erika Enderby (W20E), Martina Craig (W55A), Gayle Quantock (W60A), Baxter Peel (M14A).
Third: Lucy Jenkins (W10A), Scott Simson (M55A), Robert Vincent (M65A), Emile Altmann (M45AS).

Erika Enderby, running for NSW Stingers in W20 Elite, finished third in Friday's Prologue Sprint event, also held in gold mining terrain.
