Newcastle Orienteering Club has two free permanent courses

Course 1 is located at Blue Gum Hills Regional Park at Minmi, in conjunction with NPWS. The course is available to use whenever the park is open. Print a copy of the map here.

Course 2 is located at Brickworks Park, Wallsend. Print a copy of the map here. This course is also available on the MapRun GPS app for both android and IOS. (Note that the MapRun map needs to be checked against the latest version of the printed map. When in doubt use the map in MapRun).

It's up to you to decide in what order you visit the checkpoints (orienteers call them controls). You can aim for the shortest route to get them all, visit the controls in numerical order, or however you like.

Already finished one of the permanent courses? If you have any feedback or you have spotted an issue (eg. you find that there is a control marker missing) please let us know by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
