Orienteering NSW presents several special awards at the end of each year with Newcastle Orienteers winning three in 2023. The club received the prestigious "Club of the Year" award, with ONSW President Robyn Pallas citing the club's event organisation including two days of the KBIII carnival and the State MTBO Championships. Jenny & Damien Enderby received the "President's Award", in particular for their efforts in managing/coaching the NSW Schools Team. "Course Setter of the Year" (voted by participants) went to Oskar Mella for his KBIII sprint courses at the University of Newcastle in June.
