King's Birthday 3 Days placegetters
Forty three Newcastle orienteers competed in the King's Birthday 3 Days held in the Lithgow area over the June long weekend. Over 250 orienteers were challenged with physically tough courses on Saturday on the hills at "Baal Bone Junction", and faster long distance courses in pine at "Lidsdale State Forest" on Sunday. Monday saw a semi-bush sprint in and around "Rydal Showground". The combined times of the three races determined the overall 3 Days results with each event also counting in the State League pointscore.
