2026 Oceania Championships and ASOC Results

Around forty Newcastle orienteers were part of more than nine hundred who competed in the 2026 Oceania Champs & Australian Schools Champs, which were held in the ACT from 26 September to 4 October. The carnival featured the Oceania Middle Distance, Long Distance, Sprint (2027) and Relay Championships, as well as the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships (ASOC). Isobel Newton, Presley Scouller-Evans and Baxter Peel were members of the NSW Schools Team which finished third in the ASOC team competition.
 
Placegetters in the Oceania Championships (A & Elite classes):
  Middle Distance - First: Julian Altmann (M10A). Second: Erika Enderby (W20E), Peter Preston (M40A), Carolyn Matthews (W60A). Third: Baxter Peel (M14A), Rob Vincent (M65A). 
  Relays (as part of Aus or NSW teams) - First: Isobel Newton (W14A), Presley Scouller-Evans (M14A), Erika Enderby (W20E), Peter Preston (M35A), Jenny Enderby (W55A), Stephen Craig (M55A), Rob Vincent (M65A). Second: 
Rebecca Craig (W20E), Martina Craig (W55A). Third: Hayley Jenkins (W/M12A).
